Cooking Classroom

The school required a cooking room aimed at 4 year old children where they could safely interact with their instructors while playing and learning with food. While safety was the one of the main concerns of this project, a lot of thought was given in creating a space where the communication between teachers and pupils could be facilitated and enjoyable.

The main station developed for this room consists of a working surface, a stove protected by a glass barrier and compartments for utensils and ingredients. In order to make both children and adults to work together comfortably moving platforms were placed under the station allowing the children to stand on a stage-like structure.

These same platforms allow the children to use the sink and the back part of the kitchen, making those areas easier to supervise as the platforms can be used to limit the access to them.
